‘Mandals’ are well worth seeking out at the shops this season

LAST week, I looked at gladiator sandals for the girls so it only seems fair that this week I highlight men’s summer shoes, or “mandals” if you will. There’s a lot more foot on show for guys this season, with a host of flip-flops, slip-ons and even gladiator-inspired styles (a pedicure is a must).

Brown and black dominate, as you’d expect, in leather or fabric but look out for splashes of bold colours too to add a splash to your holiday wardrobe.

1: From Dune, these slip-on sandals have a separate toe band and are great for the beach or the bar. They cost £40 from the Bullring store.

2: Keep up with the woman in your life with your very own gladiator-style shoes for the warmer weather.

They are perfect with cropped trousers of skinny jeans and cost £49.99 from Poste.

You will find an in-store boutique at Harvey Nichols or from Office at Bullring and concessions in House of Fraser and Selfridges.

3: From Matalan, these canvas flip flops are a bit of a bargain at just £4 … go on, have two pairs!

4: Next has a fab range of men’s flip flops and whatever colour stands out for you this season, there’s bound to be a pair to tempt you.

Each pair costs £10 and choose from a whole selection of funky designs.
