THE JEWELLER
NAME: Steve Quance
FROM: Stone Jewellery
STEVE has been an established jeweller since 1995, and has been based in the Jewellery Quarter for the past ten years.
He prides himself on stocking and creating unique pieces that are contemporary too.
However, the jewellery isn’t too far out that you wouldn’t wear it.
“We like to sell items that are wearable,” he says. “With so many shops around we do like to stand out a little bit though.”
Not only does Steve sell the usual metals, but he also stocks Palladium, a cheaper alternative to platinum or white gold.
“A wedding band could cost a £1,000 less if made in palladium. It’s proving really popular and can save a lot of money.”
Steve will also be offering his personalised service at the Style In The City event in addition to selling ready-made pieces.
THE CREATIVE DIRECTOR
NAME: David-Louis
FROM: Artful Expression
WITH his unique designs David-Louis, also known as David Hendley, is sure to stand out at the Style in the City event. He works alongside around 90 local designers at Artful Expression creating unusual pieces of jewellery as well as tableware.
“All our jewellery is handmade by local designers mostly out of sterling silver,” David explains. “We have customers who come from around the UK, not just in the city. We can also custom-make pieces for people.
“We are very affordable and it’s great to do something like Style in the City so we can draw in more local people, not just the tourist trade and couples looking for wedding or engagement rings.”
David has worked with Artful Expression for ten years, and the company has been trading since 1989.
