Five autumnal shades of brown and green with a mirror. Colour smudges well and builds to depth although an applicator would be a benefit.
Estee Lauder Signature Eyeshadow Quad in Rose Gold (£29)
Shades from plum to pink in soft powder all laden with gold shimmer. Stylish packaging and two applicators offer a choice of three different brushes/sponges.
Avon true colour purple haze (£4 currently on offer from £8)
Clearly a take-off of Chanel which isn’t necessary when Avon products can stand on their own. Varied choice of shades. Good value for money.
Bobbi Brown Nude Palette (£42)
Plenty of choice with six shades including matte and shimmer but this is the most expensive. Also a bit bulky to carry around and no brushes.
Chanel Quadra Eye Shadow in Les Folies Noires (£37)
On counter from September 11, this quartet features strong dark shades but they can be used lightly if preferred. Two applicators.
