Sample a taste of job in engineering

ASPIRING engineering professionals are being invited to get a taste of the “real world of engineering” during a careers event at Birmingham Metropolitan College next Tuesday, April 27, commencing 7pm.

People aiming to work as a mechanical engineer, electrical technician, CAD technician or civil engineer, among other vocations, can identify their best route to success by meeting career professionals and viewing Engineering and CAD facilities.

The event will take place at at the Sutton Coldfield Campus on Lichfield Road.

Representatives from Land Rover and Eon, besides other companies, will describe the roles and career opportunities available in their organisations, while college tutors can advise prospective students on their best study route to success.

“As the provider of a vast range of engineering qualifications, skills and training, Birmingham Metropolitan College is eager to showcase the many routes open to both full and part-time students and employees within the industry,” explained Iain Lambeth, head of the School for Technology.

“Our engineering apprenticeships have received praise from many employers, ranging from Cadbury to BMW and Unimerco.

“The success rates on our BTEC qualifications in mechanical engineering and in electrical/electronic engineering were also extremely positive.

“If you are interested in becoming part of the engineering industry, then attending our careers event will give you all the information and insight you need to embark on a promising and fulfilling career.”
