A MAJOR new exhibit has opened at West Midland Safari Park that is bound to make a splash with visitors.
Penguin Cove is the new home to a colony of Humboldt penguins that have been introduced to the Discovery Trail area of the park.
The exhibit features nesting areas, a pool with semi-submerged beach, a waterfall, sculptures and a glass-fronted viewing area to watch the penguins as they swim under water.
Penguin Cove is included as part of the standard winter admission charge, of £10.99 for adults, and £8.99 for children. West Midland Safari Park and Discovery Trail is open weekends up to Sunday February 5 and daily from November 26 to December 24, 2011.
The amusement area, rides and African Village are closed during the winter. More details from the park’s official website www.wmsp.co.uk or by calling 01299 402114.
