A Day for Change for schoolchildren

Claire McGuinness with children in The Gambia

CHILDREN at Four Dwellings Primary School in Quinton joined hundreds of schools and took part in UNICEF's Day for Change on February 8.

On this day, children are asked to do something different and raise money for children who aren't as priviliged as us.

This year, UNICEF chose to raise the money to bring clean water to The Gambia.

The Gambia is a country very close to my heart, as I completed a teaching placement over there two years ago. Bringing this experience and knowledge to the children, through photos and videos, made a big impact on their drive and determination to help the Gambian children. As a result we managed to raise a massive £512.10!

This is a huge success for a school like ours, and I would like to say a big thank you to all of the parents and children who really did give all they could.
