Your Schools: Getting creative to make money

CHILDREN at Little Sutton Primary School have been busy designing and making products to sell for Enterprise Week.

The youngster who makes the most profit will be awarded a special trophy for their efforts.

It marked a busy period at the school on Worcester Lane after a series of activities as part of Community Cohesion Week.

Reception children visited nearby Sutton Park while Year 1 pupils made a selection of canal-inspired artwork to coincide with the topic they were studying.

Pupils in Year 2 and 4 visited Cadbury World and created bracelets and cakes to sell.

Year 3 youngsters researched famous people with a Birmingham connection and designed pencil toppers to sell.

And while Year 5 were giving presentations about theatres in Birmingham, Year 6 pupils produced a rap CD inspired by people and places in the city.

Nicola Arkinstall, deputy head teacher at the school said: “The pupils all had a fantastic week learning lots and having lots of fun. There are many budding entrepreneurs and they have all learned valuable lessons about making money.”
