Aston Villa legends turn out for charity evening

Dennis Mortimer lifts the European Cup for Villa

ASTON Villa legends will be turning out in May to support the Marie Curie Cancer Hospices.

The event has been organised by members of the Aston Social Club in memory of Villa fan Geoff Broomhall who died of cancer last year.

Fan Rob Kirby contacted Andy Blair who put him in contact with Dennis Mortimer, Gordon Cowans, Gary Shaw, Des Bremner and Tony Morley who have all agreed to attend the evening on May 9.

Villa director General Charles Krulak has also agreed to allow the European Cup trophy to be loaned out for the evening.

The event will include an informal question and answer session, auction, raffle, photos with the Eurpean Cup, free buffet and disco, with all proceeds going to the Marie Curie Cancer Hospices.

There will also be the opportunity for fans to mingle with the 'Legends' afterwards and just have a general one-to-one with their heroes. Andy Blair will be the compere for the evening.

The Aston Social Club have agreed to donate the use of the venue for the evening, which has been organised by Villa fans.
