WADE LYN

Cleone Foods

INSPIRED by his mother's love of Caribbean cuisine, Wade Lyn set up the award-winning Cleone Foods in 1988.

He realised there was a gap in the market. People were looking for new taste experiences as they increasingly travelled to exotic places.

So he launched his Island Delight brand to bring some of the most popular Caribbean dishes to British consumers in the form of patties.

The idea has been a huge hit. From his factory in Icknield Street, Hockley, Wade now supplies his traditional-style patties to the country's biggest supermarkets including, Tesco, Asda and Sainsbury's.

His firm was also named best Caribbean manufacturer at the Caribbean Food Awards in 2006.
