Newtown Fish Bar, Newtown Shopping Centre, Newtown

AT FIRST glance, culinary ambitions seem limited round here, but Newtown Fish Bar's chips were spot on.

Interestingly, they were machine cut wide and thin to resemble edible floorboards.

Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside there was nothing woody about them.

Beautifully seasoned by a happy server, a £1 cone weighed a substantial 500g on the scales dutifully waiting inside my chipmobile parked right outside.

Happy days.
