TRADITIONAL butcher's shops may be disappearing from our high streets, but this award-winning family firm is bucking the trend.
Walter Smith's has been trading in Birmingham since 1885. Today it has 20 butchers outlets across the West Midlands, including the Bullring Indoor Market and the Mander Centre in Wolverhampton.
Its products have won a string of awards, including the Supreme Champion Great Taste Award for its free range pork pies. Last month its port and caramelised red onion sausage was voted the West Midlands' Tastiest Speciality Sausage.
Walter Smith's prides itself on most of its meat coming from local farmers and its products being made to traditional recipes.
