Hobbs & Sons, Black Country Living Museum

Hobbs & Sons

JUST look at the punters who can’t wait to get inside the Black Country Living Museum’s second fish and chip shop!

They all know that if you can’t beat ‘em, eat ‘em!

The food is cooked the old fashioned way in beef dripping for customers eager to step back in time, yet the late-morning rush to the counter is the equivalent of an internet-driven flashmob!

A funnel of chips costs £1.50 and mine weighed 300g on my in-car scales which were also enjoying a grand day out in my wife’s cavernous bag. Add some unbeatable cod and the total is £5. Smiles all round from The Youngs, and old, alike.
