EVEN the Royal Mail’s postcode finder service simply lists B33 8NF as ‘Birmingham’ but, should you ever want to find it, the ageing Poolway Shopping Centre is close to Kents Moat Recreation Ground somewhere between Yardley Stechford and Sheldon.
Just when I was thinking the centre should be given to the Army for target practice, the chips at the Poolway Fish Bar were surprisingly good, if regrettably lukewarm.
Weighing 250g on my in-car scales, my 90p cone was reasonable value – though it’s not a good idea for any server, however friendly, to keep using fingers to help the chips on their way.
