THERE were twirls, swirls and the odd pirouette as festive revellers pulled their skates on and enjoyed the opening of a festive Christmas ice rink.
Hundreds of visitors packed out the mini winter wonderland funfair and ice rink, which has this year moved from Broad Street in Birmingham city centre to Lightwoods Park, in Bearwood, because of the ongoing library construction work.
Many applauded the decision to relocate the attraction, saying it was easier for families to reach and the parkland setting gave it a more festive feel.
