Cool new blue Aygo

TOYOTA is hoping that motorists will warm to a cool new version of its Aygo city car even though it has the blues.

The one-litre economy model is painted blue from head to toe, which Toyota reckons will be considered trendy by the younger drivers at whom it is aimed.

The metallic blue paint finish includes the door mirrors and bumper inserts on the outside and continues inside the cabin with new carpet mats incorporating matching blue stitching and slate blue bezels for the air vents and instrument display.

The new Aygo Blue sits alongside the Aygo Platinum at the top of the model range, offering Bluetooth connectivity, air conditioning and a leather gear knob on manual models.

Additionally, two accessory packs are available. Aygo Xtra Protected costs £335 and includes rear parking sensors, mud flaps and unpainted rear and side protection strips while Aygo Style is £595 and adds alloy wheels, front fog lamps and front scuff plates. On sale now in three and five-door body styles, the 60mpg Aygo Blue has a CO2 figure of 108g/km and costs from £7,995 road.
