Classic cars running at Brooklands

VISITORS to this year's Brooklands Motoring Festival will be treated to appearances from some of the most iconic vehicles of the past 100 years as they go head-to-head in a Concours D'Elegance.

Mercedes-Benz World and Brooklands Museum will jointly organise the two-day festival, taking place over the weekend of June 28 and 29.

The line up of cars will compete over the weekend in a variety of categories including Mille Miglia/RAC Rally Class, post-War Grand Touring class and the Post-War Spirit of Brooklands class. Vehicles currently scheduled to appear include an Aston Martin DB4 GT4 Zagato, Austin Healey "Frogeye" Sprites, Lagonda M45 Rapide, Post war Talbot-Lago, Bentley R type Continental, Alfa Romeo 6cyl 1750, Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost Alpine Eagle, Sunbeam 3-litre twin cam, Mercedes-Benz SSK, Low Chassis Invicta, Ferrari 250 lusso, Jaguar XK120 lightweight and Bizzarini GT.

Lewis Hamilton will drive the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes Formula 1 car at intervals during the weekend and Sir Stirling Moss will be returning to the tracks with a historic competition car. Tickets from www.brooklandsfestival.com.
