Petrol power for C-Crosser
CITROEN has added a petrol-powered option for its C-Crosser model, which has only been available in diesel guise until now.
Based on the Mitsubishi Outlander, together with the Peugeot 4007 clone, the C-Crosser gets Mitsubishi’s 2.4-litre petrol engine with a choice of five-speed manual and continuously variable transmissions.
The 170bhp engine endows the vehicle with a top speed of 124mph, a 0-60mph acceleration time of 9.2 seconds.
The all-important CO2 figure is under the 226g/km threshold for higher rate Vehicle Excise Duty, which will represent an annual saving of £100 from next April.
The model with manual transmission comes with five seats and costs £19,995, which makes it the least expensive C-Crosser.
