Suzuki make a Splash

IT’S set to be an exciting year for Suzuki with the launch of the new Alto and the Splash 1.0-litre, and the continued success of the revised Grand Vitara with its 2.4-litre engine.

The Suzuki Alto will be on sale in the UK from March 1 and will be the lowest emitting five-door petrol family car on the market producing emissions of just 103g/km.

Combined fuel consumption is 64.2mpg and it will be powered by a three-cylinder 67bhp 1.0-litre engine. With focus on down-sizing in the current economic climate, the Alto will be an attractive purchase for customers with high fuel economy, low CO2 emissions and low running costs.

January saw the addition of the Suzuki Splash GLS 1.0-litre to the model line-up. The Splash range was launched a year ago and offers agile and fun-to-drive handling while still ensuring fuel economy and CO2 are kept to a minimum.

The 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engine produces 120g/km of CO2 which means annual road tax is only £35, ideal for cash-conscious individuals.

Built on the same platform as the highly successful Swift, the Splash has a combined fuel consumption of 56.5mpg and comes with air conditioning, electric front windows, six air-bags and heated adjustable door mirrors as standard.

The Suzuki Grand Vitara will this year be celebrating its 21st birthday. On sale since 1988, Suzuki has now sold 2.5 million Vitara’s and Grand Vitara’s worldwide. The new 2.4-litre engine is available in three and five-door body styles.

The electronic stability programme is now fitted as standard.

CO2 emissions remain unchanged to the out-going 2.0-litre engine at 208g/km for the five-door manual and 205g/km for the three-door manual.

Prices start at £13,800 for 2.4-litre SZ3 three-door manual and from £15,750 for SZ4 five-door manual on-the-road.
