Good price for Ford at launch auction

SOME of the first of Ford’s new supermini models to come on to the used market have clocked up above average prices at auction.

A sale including 15 new Fiestas and two new Kas saw average returns of 80 per cent.

One Fiesta 1.4 Titanium 5-door petrol model sold for £12,200 – 87 per cent of its cost new – while a Ka 1.2 Style petrol fetched 88 per cent of its original value at £7,600.

Jon Wellsman, sales director, Ford of Britain said following British Car Auctions sale at Nottingham: “The prices we achieved were our best result at a first-time launch action, reflecting the quality and style of the new Fiesta.

“We were hoping for around 75 per cent and so the results exceeded our expectations.”
