Lights, camera, action at Edinburgh film fest

KEIRA Knightley is set to be the star of the opening night of the Edinburgh International Film Festival.

Her leading role was revealed as her new film The Edge of Love, was chosen to open this year's event. The film is a Dylan Thomas biopic written by her mother, Sharman Macdonald.

The Academy Award nominee, as well as co stars Sienna Miller and Matthew Rhys, are expected to walk the red carpet for the opening gala of this year's festival, the first EIFF to be staged in June.

The screening at Edinburgh International Film Festival on June 18 is likely to be a world premiere, with the film released nationwide on June 27.
