Fishing for food fans at Butlins

FORGET the British seaside favourite of fish and chips, Japanese sushi has gone on the menu at Butlins.

The company's first sushi bar has opened at the Shoreline Hotel in Bognor Regis. For just £7.95, guests can enjoy a ten-piece platter of Japanese delicacies including seafood gunkan, smoked salmon nigiri and tuna maki rolls.

Butlins chefs have received special training from sushi experts so they can make the healthy platters fresh daily on Resort and traditional recipes have been slightly adapted to accommodate British tastes.

It's the latest move in a steady introduction of new choices at the company's Resorts, alongside the old favourites.

Managing director of Butlins, Richard Bates, said: "Families tuck into all sorts of food at home these days and naturally they want more choice when they're here too. We've responded to demand for more exotic and healthy choices."
