BBC presenter Ashley Blake hit teen with wooden pole, court told
Jul 28 2009 By Christina Savvas
When shown CCTV footage of him fetching it from the bar, he said he was going to use it to secure the doors and protect his staff from the revellers who had begun throwing items of furniture. He denies hitting anyone with the pole.
Blake, who no longer runs the venue, has not appeared on screen since being charged.
He worked as the BBC’s regional art and entertainment correspondent and worked as a presenter on consumer programme Watchdog before moving back to Birmingham, where he could be seen regularly presenting Midlands Today and Inside Out.
