New recycling plant is to lead the way

THE biggest indoor recycling site has come to the West Midlands.

The Lawrence Group celebrated the official opening of the new Forge Recycling site, a five-acre indoor waste facility within its 16-acre recycling site.

The official launch saw key customers and industry experts from around the country attending to see Forge Recycling officially opened by guest of honour Liz Goodwin, the CEO of WRAP (Waste & Resources Action Programme).

Guests were also welcomed and given background on the new site and plant by Lawrence Group’s managing director David Lawrence and chairman of the Lawrence Group Board, Andrew Gibson.

“This is a fundamentally significant development for the Lawrence Group and for recycling and waste in this country,” said David Lawrence.

“This site is the largest covered site in Europe and the new Forge Recycling facility and plant will allow us to achieve the highest possible standards in collecting, segregating and diverting waste from landfill, be it construction, demolition, commercial or industrial waste streams,” he said. WRAP’s Liz Goodwin agreed: “WRAP is delighted to be working with the Lawrence Group and proud to see all they are achieving in recycling and waste management.

“The company’s pro-active and committed approach is impressive and this new plant is set to lead the way.”

The Forge Recycling site and plant have been developed to this point over the last year as a result of development capital investment of £10 million.
