Reunion for Central studio staff

FORMER staff at Birmingham's famous Central TV studios are to hold an April Fool's Day reunion - at a restaurant once regarded as their "external canteen."

Veterans from the old Broad Street offices will gather at La Galleria, Birmingham's best-known Italian restaurant, tomorrow to relive old times and long lunchtime gatherings.

Organiser John Palmer, said: "La Galleria was the obvious place for us to go.

"There used to be three tables there that used to be permanently occupied by Central people. Whenever journalists came to see us or we had stars visiting, La Galleria was like our external canteen.

"April's Fool's Day was the obvious day for us to hold the reunion. There are people coming from all over, from Liverpool, London, Newcastle and elsewhere.

"It should be a very enjoyable occasion - we have been working on this for about six months."
