DJ set to strap phones to his head

Tim Shaw

OUTRAGEOUS DJ Tim Shaw is about to embark on another shocking prank by strapping 40 mobile phones to his head to see if they really do fry your brain.

The presenter on Birmingham-based Kerrang Radio has volunteered to be a guinea pig for the week-long experiment and will undergo psychometric evaluations before and afterwards to see if his brain is affected.

Tim hit the headlines last year when his long suffering wife Hayley sold his luxury sports car on the internet for 50p after she heard his flirtatious interview with glamour model Jodie Marsh.

The shock jock's Kerrang 105.2 FM Asylum show was pulled last year when he told listeners he was planning to break into his boss's home live on air.

His latest prank starts on August 26. From each of the 40 phones he will make a call that will last a week in talk time. This is the equivalent to 6,720 hours on a mobile phone in just seven days.

The 32-year-old father of two young girls, who lives in Sutton Coldfield, said: "Some people have said that it will be like strapping a nuclear bomb to my head, but I know in my heart of hearts that it's not dangerous.

"I've talked to a neurologist who's told me that the experiment may not have any immediate effect on my brain. It could be more long term."
