Game destined for city players

BIRMINGHAM is really going places with the launch of a new UK-wide board game dedicated to the city.

Former Dragon's Den contestant Rachel Lowe, who stormed off the BBC show in tears after not knowing the difference between net profit and gross, went on to find success with her invention.

She is now bringing her hit hit board game Destination to Birmingham after originally rolling out a Destination London version.

The family board game is based on a taxi ride. Its inventor previously worked as a cabbie to pay her way through university.

Destinations Birmingham will be formally launched in the city on November 4 in time for the pre-Christmas sales rush.

In the game, the player is a taxi driver, collecting fares from destinations in the city, trying to avoid the traffic lights.

Rachel said she proved the judges on Dragon's Den wrong when her London edition outsold Monopoly after being launched in Hamleys toy store during Christmas 2004.

Further information about the Destination board game can be found by visiting www.rtlgames.co.uk. ..SUPL:
