He was such a fantastic brother and son; we'll never get over it

The spot where Justin died was turned into a shrine by friends and family

JUSTIN'S grieving family today insisted no sentence could make up for their pain and loss over his death.

His mother, Teresa Murphy, was too emotional to speak after reliving the moment of her son died in July this year when the details of his death was read out in court.

She sobbed throughout the sentencing but glared at 32-year-old heroin addict Darren Bardsley as he stared at the floor in the dock.

But Justin's 18-year-old sister Marie said that although it was good to see Bardsley locked up, nothing would bring her brother back.

"No sentence he would ever have been given could have made up for the pain my family has suffered since Justin died," she said.

"He was such a fantastic brother and we will never get over what happened to him and how he was killed.

"None of our lives will ever be the same again now Justin has gone. He was the best brother, son and friend in the world."

Wearing a RIP Justin T-shirt, Marie said that the community's reaction after her brother's death had meant everything to the family.

"He touched so many people's lives and all the tributes, messages and flowers sent proved what an amazing boy he was."

Justin's uncle, Larry Murphy, said the last memory of his nephew was a special one.

"He was a brilliant lad who was full of life and the last photo we have of him was one taken of him in his suit for my wedding. I would like to thank everyone in the Kingstanding community who have done so much for us."

The family also wanted to say thank you to Sutton Police Station, Justin's old schools Twickenham Junior School and Cardinal Wiseman and the Birmingham Mail.

Tributes poured into the Mail after he died and Kingstanding came to a standstill for his funeral where over 1,000 people mourned his passing.
