AN air of excitement was among the Midland crowd of Christina fans, delighted to see a big show from the pint-sized star.

Sisters Christina and Rosemary Nwankwo had never seen Christina Aguilera before and enjoyed hearing the showstopping tracks for her latest album, Back To Basics.

Christina, a 29-year-old teacher from Sutton Coldfield, said: "We couldn't wait to come for this concert and my sister has even travelled from London just to see the show.

"Christina is very talented and has an amazing voice."

David Linden, a 23-year-old marketing worker for Corus, from Hockley, treated his girlfriend Isabelle Joubert to tickets.

"We like the love songs the best," said Isabelle.

David insisted he only had eyes for his girlfriend and said he wasn't too bothered about Christina's steamier scenes.

Charlotte Brand, aged 19, from near Henley in Arden, was seeing the gig with her parents Adrian, a financial advisor, and Kim, a therapist.

"We are really thrilled to be seeing her as she doesn't come to Birmingham very often," said Charlotte. "I prefer her older songs, but it's good just to see her."

PR girl Kimberley Kay, aged 33, from Warwickshire, and pal Charlie Grant, a 31-year-old marketing assistant from Leamington, said: "Christina has a real passion and a big voice. She always puts on a good show, it's so entertaining."
