Thousands lose out after city firm disappears

THOUSANDS of people planning Christmas parties have been left out of pocket after the Birmingham firm organising them disappeared owing money.

Revellers paid UK Balls Ltd £49.50 a ticket for a string of black tie events at Sandwell Park Farm over Christmas.

But, unknown to many, the firm cancelled the posh dos and left the office it used in Highfield Road, Edgbaston, a week ago owing thousands in rent.
