Police hunt OAP attackers

DETECTIVES want to quiz two men over an attack on an elderly man in his own home.

A robber followed the 71-year-old victim to his flat after spotting him withdrawing cash from his local post office in Aston. As the pensioner reached the front door of his home, the offender pushed him into the hallway, punched him and snatched the cash from his wallet.

Police believe the attacker had an accomplice. The pair are thought to have followed the victim into Barry Jackson Tower, in Enstone Walk, and got into the lift with him moments before the attack on February 6.

The victim suffered some pain and discomfort following the incident, but was not seriously hurt.

One of the offenders was aged about 23, 6ft tall, and medium build with short black hair and wearing a grey and black striped jacket. The second offender was black and 5ft tall, of medium build, wearing a hooded top.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Thornhill police station on 0845 113 5000 or via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
