The initiative aims to promote singing in school as a valuable learning tool.

Hundreds of schools across the country will be recording songs and sending them to participating radio stations where they will up uploaded to websites and played on air.

BRMB will be the nominated Birmingham station taking part.

Jamelia said: "Singing isn't just fun, it benefits kids in all sorts of ways.

"It's a real privilege to return to the place where I first found my voice.

"I would encourage all schools across the country to give their kids the chance of becoming radio stars."
