Second man charged over model murder

Andre Nunes

A SECOND man has been charged with the kidnap and murder of a former model from Birmingham.

West Midlands Police said the 41-year-old man was due to appear before city magistrates this morning to face charges over the disappearance and death of Andre Nunes.

The 47-year-old went missing from his Weoley Castle home in September 2005. His remains were discovered in the grounds of a detached country home in Alvechurch, near Redditch, last August.

Another man, Michael Weldon, 55, of Warwick Road, Acocks Green, has already pleaded not guilty to murdering Andre Nunes between September 2005 and January 2006 and also a charge of kidnap.

Weldon and Michael Oliver, 51, of Moorfields, Lilley Green Road, Alvechurch, Worcestershire, also denied a charge of obstructing a coroner in the execution of his duties by burying the body of Mr Nunes.

In addition Oliver pleaded not guilty to assisting an offender by burying or destroying Mr Nunes' body.
