Gun raiders target bank

MASKED thugs brandishing a gun terrorised security staff at a Birmingham bank.

The armed robbers pounced as the security staff were outside Barclays bank in Coventry Road, Small Heath.

They threatened them with the weapon and fled with a box containing a large quantity of cash.

Then they rammed the security van with their own vehicle – a RX 300 Lexus – as they made their getaway, causing damage to the van and their own car.

But no shots were fired and no one was injured in the hold-up which happened, at 9.30am yesterday.
