Minibus crashes into back garden

Minibus which ran through a hedge into the garden of house in Highfield Close Hall Green

A BIRMINGHAM midwife woke up from an afternoon doze to see a minibus had crashed into her back garden.

Midwife Lesley Howard, aged 42, of Highfield Close, Hall Green, was woken at around 4pm yesterday by the sound of the city council-run park-and-ride bus smashing through her garden wall.

She said: “The damage is phenomenal – most of the garden wall has been knocked down and the shed is ruined.

“I was in the living room having a doze when I thought there was an explosion. I thought it was a bomb.”

She said there were around three pople on the bus at the time, but nobody was injured.

Officers from Birmingham City COuncil were at the scene within an hour investigating the crash.

West Midlands Fire Service was called out to the incident along with paramedics.
