Davie said: “I can’t apologise in person but at least they’ll know I’m sorry for what I’ve done.”
He said because he was watching football he drank more than he “normally would” and had pints before the game, during half-time and afterwards.
He said another youth, who was also at the station, suggested he call back the number rang by the 15-year-old - who cannot be named for legal reasons.
He forgot about what had happened until police contacted him the following Tuesday and played CCTV footage, showing him bent double with laughter after he made the call.
The former Moatfield School pupil said: “I vaguely remember doing it and thought ‘oh no what an idiot’.

“ I didn’t realise how serious it actually was until I’d gone to the station and they told me everything. They just read out what I’d said and I just felt ashamed.
“Once I saw the CCTV it started coming back to me. I was just really ashamed, embarrassed and shocked. It wasn’t very nice to watch.
“It was just a one-off stupid thing I’ve done in a state of drunkenness.
“I just turned up to court on my own. I was too ashamed to tell anybody. I was hoping I could go to court, go in there get some punishment and that would be the end of it.”
Davie told his mother he was off to a meeting in Birmingham on the day of his court appearance. Fearing she may have seen the case reported in the news, he texted her: “You OK mom? Love you and nan lots x.”
Davie sent a further text to his mother when she asked what was going on.
He wrote: “I’m OK mom apart from I done something stupid and I’m all over news.”
Tina described what he did as “despicable” and said she feared her son was suicidal.
The 51-year-old said: “What happened was every parent’s nightmare and if it was me I’d be traumatised.
“But the way Aaron has been portrayed makes him look as though he’s one of those yobbos who walk the street at night and he’s not that sort of person.”
Davie has been granted unconditional bail for a pre-sentence report to be prepared for the court.
