A trucker called Warwickshire Police at 6.20am claiming he was attacked during an attempted robbery on his curtain-sided lorry in Coleshill and had used a knife to defend himself. Five minutes later a call was made to the ambulance service from junction 7 of the northbound M6 at Great Barr – about ten miles away – reporting three people with stab wounds racing to hospital.
