Review: Lily Allen at Birmingham O2 Academy

Daringly, and at times disappointingly, she gave only teasers of some of her biggest tracks, such as LDN, mixing it into another track or two.

But this, along with an impressive catalogue of styles - from anthemic ska to electropop and dirty disco - only served to keep the audience’s interest.

Highlights included a cover version of Dizzee Rascal’s Dance Wiv Me, her latest single The Fear, and a soulful Littlest Things.

A highly-anticipated encore, in which Lily returned to the stage in revealing white hotpants, featured a bizarre version of Britney Spears’ Womanizer and her biggest hit Smile.

Witty, fun and totally captivating, Lily can Smile in the knowledge that her star is firmly on the up.

Verdict: 4/5
