FIREFIGHTERS tackled a blaze started by a faulty electrical system which they think had been to have been used to grow cannabis.

Crews from Aston, Handsworth and Perry Barr were called to Hill Grove, Perry Barr, after the alarm was raised by a member of the public at about 7.45am. No-one was injured.

It was not immediately clear if any plants or drug-related paraphernalia were discovered.
