Police release fake suicide note in Quinton murder

An extract of a fake suicide note found at the home of victim Kuldeep Kaur Sidhu

Part of a fake suicide note found at the home of a nursery nurse murdered a year ago was released by police today.

The badly-burned body of Kuldeep Kaur Sidhu was discovered at her home in Quinton, Birmingham, following a fire on May 14 last year.

The 25-year-old was in the early stages of pregnancy when she was discovered at the foot of a flight of stairs at the house in Glyn Farm Road.

West Midlands Police said although Ms Sidhu, known to her family as Kully, was found with a ligature around her neck, there was evidence of manual strangulation.

A brief extract from the hand-written note, which claims to have been written by a friend on behalf of Ms Sidhu, was released today in a bid to track down its author.

Detective Chief Inspector Steve Bimson, from the force's Major Investigation Unit, said: "The note found at the scene was written by somebody else and proves that somebody knows about Kully's death.

"It is vital that we speak to whoever has written the note.
