Celebrities help Rotunda apartments survive the credit crunch

“Most people haven’t stayed in a round building before and, when coupled with the amazing views from the balcony, we have two fantastic unique selling points on offer.”

Last year it was reported that residents who bought their iconic properties in a frenzied 20-minute spending spree in 2005 were selling up because of negative equity.

But a few weeks later the Claremont Group, which snapped up half of the Rotunda for £25 million, revealed that it had sold more than 90 per cent of its units in just one month.

Now, Staying Cool says it is hoping to target more clients from the West Midlands in an effort to increase its occupancy rates.

Ms Stephenson added: “A lot of people locally just don’t know we have our apartments at the summit of the Rotunda.

“We are in guidebooks such as Lonely Planet and we have been working hard with Marketing Birmingham, but we need to build our profile more in Birmingham and the surrounding areas.”
