Boy dies playing on trampoline at West Heath home
A THREE-year-old boy has died after collapsing while he bounced on a trampoline at his family home in Birmingham.
The toddler’s mother frantically called 999 after the child stopped breathing in the garden at their home in West Heath.
Paramedics said the child, who has not yet been named, was suffering from cardiac arrest when they arrived at the house in Staple Lodge Road.
They battled in vain to revive him. He was taken to Birmingham Children’s Hospital where he was found to be dead on arrival.
The tragedy happened on Monday morning.
The boy’s parents were said by police to be “absolutely devastated.”
They could not be contacted today, but a neighbour said: “It’s a real shame. Everyone is very shocked.”
She added: “I came home from work on Monday and police forensics officers were there in their white suits.
“They were at the house for about 10 hours on Monday.
“I don’t really speak to the family much. They keep themselves to themselves but my son plays football with their eldest lad who is about nine.
