A MAN wept as he appeared in the dock in today charged with the murder of a young Birmingham father.
Sean Ullah, aged 20, of Ely Grove, Quinton, appeared before Birmingham Magistrates this afternoon accused of killing 22-year-old Christopher Cashmore.
Mr Cashmore, understood to have a young daughter, was stabbed in the upper chest and neck during what is believed to be a row over a child’s bicycle in Ely Grove, Quinton.
Ambulance paramedics battled to keep Mr Cashmore alive following the incident on Wednesday afternoon but he died in hospital a short time later.
Dressed in a dark blue T-Shirt and trousers, Ullah spoke only to confirm his name, address and date of birth before he was remanded in custody to appear before Birmingham Crown Court on July 24.
Two other people, a teenage boy and a woman, were arrested but have been released without charge.
Meanwhile, websites set up in memory of Mr Cashmore, understood to have previously taken part in a mixed martial arts cage fighting contest, winning his bout, have been flooded with tributes.
On social networking site Facebook, hundreds of heartbroken friends joined a group called ‘Rest In Peace Chris Cashmore PURE LEGEND!’ to post tributes.
The site said: “Another Fallen Angel, Another Victim Of Knife Crime In The Birmingham (Quinton) Area, Another Great Life Taken.”
