Stechford flat hit by blaze

FIREFIGHTERS forced their way into a multi-occupancy flat in Birmingham after neighbours spotted a fire and raised the alarm.

Crews from Sheldon and Ward End burst into the three-storey Victorian property in Flaxley Road, Stechford, but no one was inside.

The flames were confined to a ground floor lounge.

It’s not yet known how the fire started at around noon yesterday.
