Armed robbers strike at Sparkhill Halifax

STAFF at a Birmingham bank were threatened with hammers and axes by robbers who then made off with a large quantity of cash.

Police have appealed for witnesses and information to help catch the robbers who struck at the Halifax in Stratford Road, Sparkhill, just before opening at 9am on Thursday. Anyone who has any information is asked to call 0845 113 5000.
