Armed forces minister Bill Rammell talks to the press about the deployment of troops to Afghanistan.

ARMED Forces Minister Bill Rammell has put his reputation on the line and agreed to answer readers’ hard-hitting questions on the war in Afghanistan.

In an exclusive interview with the Birmingham Mail, Mr Rammell, revealed there were no plans to withdraw British troops from the war-torn country.

Members of the Taliban, who have killed 232 UK soldiers since 2001, would be welcomed back into the fold as part of a “reconciliation process”.

Now, Mr Rammell has agreed to answer questions from readers regarding any matter to do with the military and Britain’s presence in Afghanistan.

Mr Rammell said: “People have all sorts of concerns and questions. As a minister responsible for this area I want to go out of my way to engage with people.”
