School cook retires after a quarter of a century at Leigh Junior and Infants

A DINNER supervisor at a Birmingham primary school was given a fond farewell by pupils and staff as she said goodbye to the kitchens after nearly a quarter of a century. Rose Taylor has called it a day after helping to look after thousands of school children at Leigh Junior and Infants in Leigh Road, Washwood Heath, throughout the last 23 years.

Her retirement party, which coincided with the school breaking up for the start of the Christmas holidays, also included a special assembly in Rose’s honour.

A school spokesman said: “Rose has been loved by all the children for the last 23 years.”
