Adrian Chiles quits BBC to join ITV with parting shot

BRUMMIE Adrian Chiles is quitting the BBC for an ITV job understood to be worth around £1 million a year – after blasting the corporation for tinkering with The One Show.

The Quinton-born 43-year-old was said to be unhappy at Chris Evans being drafted in to host the Friday night edition of the programme.

He will front GMTV and present ITV’s football coverage after signing a four-year deal with ITV.

Chiles was on holiday last week when the news Evans was joining the show to present a new extended Friday edition was confirmed.

He will see out his contract, which has a month left to run.

Chiles fired a parting shot in the BBC’s direction as he announced his move yesterday.
