Curvy Rebecca scoops top prize

Rebecca Morton

A BIRMINGHAM woman who was too embarrassed to wear a swimsuit has won the final of a beauty contest for curvy girls.

Rebecca Morton, of Solihull, was crowned Miss Natural Curves by a host of celebrity judges in the glittering final of the competition.

Now the stunner, 23, will go on to compete in the Miss England contest.

The budding actress, who studied theatre at Coventry University, was the perfect choice as the winner after she told the Birmingham Mail how she wanted to become a good role model for other curvier girls.

“The fact that a competition such as Miss Natural Curves can make you feel more confident in the face of so much media pressure, has made me want to be a good role model for other curvier girls out there,” she said.

But she wasn’t always as outgoing. Rebecca reveal-ed that she hated wearing a swimsuit when she was younger because she was so body-conscious.

“I was always very self-conscious right from the start as a young girl, as I was bigger than all my friends. I never wanted to put a swimsuit on. I now realise that it is just not true and embrace my natural shape.”

Rebecca was picked by judges Craig Phillips, from Big Brother, boxer Big Joe Egan and Cheryl Hughes of Hughes12plus, a modelling agency for bigger women.
