Birmingham paedophile raped date's 14-year-old daughter

He said Brown met his latest victim’s mother in July 2009 on the website Dating for Parents.com.

She had two teenage daughters, aged 14 and 18, and within three months he moved into her home.

Mr Brown said that she became aware he was abusing her daughter after she woke up from sleeping on a sofa between shifts during an afternoon in April.

“She walked past her daughter’s bedroom and saw her partially naked in bed and the defendant also partially naked standing next to the bed,” Mr Hardy said.

“She went in and the defendant told her ‘I’ve been bad’ and they went downstairs and she told him to leave.”

The police were called and the daughter told detectives she woke up on repeated occasions to find her clothes removed and Brown sexually assaulting her.

Mr Hardy said police then seized Brown’s mobile phone and found 44 indecent pictures of the victim. When they took his laptop they found 50,000 pornographic pictures of boys and girls.

Samantha Powis, defending, said Brown did not join the dating website with a view to “grooming” teenage girls, she said, but as a parent himself he wanted to meet someone.

Judge Thomas said he was imposing an indeterminate jail sentence because Brown was a danger to women and their children. Brown was also made the subject of a Sexual Offences Prevention Order which will stop him from having any unsupervised access to children or to internet child porn.
