West Heath mum-of-two in four year saga over gas and electricity bills

ANGRY Emma Facey hasn’t paid a single gas or electricity bill for four years – but not for the want of trying.

The Birmingham mum-of-two claims she has been embroiled in a “shambolic” battle with energy supplier npower since August 2006 after switching her electricity and gas supply to the firm from British Gas.

Today, npower admitted a “mix-up” and “errors” and pledged to end the sorry saga, which Emma said had left her in fear of bailiffs banging on her door.

The 36-year-old trainee florist, of Houldey Road, West Heath, said: “The problem first started in November 2006 when I received one letter from British Gas welcoming me back as a customer and another from npower saying the firm was sorry I was leaving.

“I couldn’t understand it as I hadn’t requested to go back to British Gas, but npower said to leave it with them and they would sort it out.”

Then in January 2007, Emma received a letter from npower telling her the problem had been caused by the fact she had two electricity lines serving her property – but this left her even more baffled.
